Shannon Richardson, Images for Critique, 4/22/2013

The artist that I chose to emulate this week is Susan Worsham.  I really enjoyed this assignment this week because I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot in a different environment.  I always have such a difficult time narrowing down/selecting my photos.  The first image was taken in the city of Richmond (East End I believe) in an alley that was between a few houses.  The weather was pretty gloomy and it was just before the storm.

This image is of a shed/shack that was behind one of the houses in Richmond.  It was old and falling apart.  I like how the fence somewhat frames the photo and how the focus of the image is sharper although it is further away than the fence.  I like the use of depth of field in this image.

In many of Susan Worsham's photos, I feel that there are a few landscape photos that are in urban settings that have objects in them that typically don't belong (often items that should be discarded or taken to a dump, or salvage yard).
