Raymond Meeks- Artist

Raymond Meeks' Website

Raymond Meeks' "2 Solitudes" portfolio is probably one of my favorites that we've seen so far this semester. I like his photos' lack of color/vibrant color. Using black and white or muted tones makes you concentrate less on what the picture looks like and more on what is in the photo itself. I chose this portrait of his because I liked the asymmetry of the background. I chose the landscape below because I liked the mystery of the fog in the background of the field. I like that the grass closest to you is sharp and in focus, and as it moves away from you it gradually gets foggier and foggier until you can only make out shapes in the distance.
