Justin Piaoan 4/21/13 Image for Critique

For My Images I tried to take a twist onto Gary Schneider's work of heads.
Artist: Gary Schneider

  • The first picture that I took is a portrait of me. Always looking up, optimist, head in the clouds, engulfed in wishful thinking, believing, walking separate ways at both times, but non the less fully aware of everything going on in this "life".
  • The second is one of my sister. Here I used the same technique as I did for the first picture except change the way and position/ color way for this picture.
  • The third photo taken is to represent how much we as people are brainwashed, desensitized, tangled up, and overwhelmed with our lives, that we fail to see whats even in front of us
  • The fourth shot, I tied a shopping bag over my face and utilized the clock and the map into this head-shot. This is to represent us machinist on how consumed we are in spending for nothing...shopping for another face, the next best thing. The tangible things bring happiness(SARCASM)!!!!!! It's a universal habit and unfortunately an uncontrollable aspect that is global and timeless. One of the dastardly awesome perks that comes with being human.
  • The fifth shot is a lazy shot I passed off as my fifth. I honestly thought it was kinda of cool is my only reasoning behind this one.

If I took the time to make my shots all they could be and did not rush myself to shoot photographs, and had other people to shoot; I firmly believe I would have better captivated the feel and ambiance of Gary Schneiders collection through my own personal style.
