Jill Treat. 4-7-13. Artist Post

This week we were asked to post and explain what makes this a strong image based on the work by
Raymond Meeks. I chose the above image as my portrait because I like the way she is looking away from the camera as if she doesn't know he is there.  I also like how he used natural light to accent the leaves and sky.  To me it seems he did not have to do alot of editing to get this photo.  That is the main reason I think this is a  strong photo.

I really like this landscape photo. It was the photo I was most drawn to when looking through the photos of "2 solitudes".  I love the way he captured the leaves flying through the air and the lighting that was used to brighten certain sections of the image.  The details of the leaves and the stillness of the tree makes me think about the weather on that day.  Was there a small breeze that affected only parts of the area.  This is a strong landscape because of the ability to capture the stillness and movement in one photo.
