For this week's post, I decided to take pictures inspired by the work of Alec Soth. I remember talking about him in class the most and honestly, his work is my favorite. I took so many pictures inspired by his project named "Broken Manual". I didn't stop looking at those pictures though, the rest of his work is truly amazing and inspiring work. Some of the models he uses aren't exactly who you see on the front page of a crappy magazine that sells clothes. They all actually tell a story. But for "Broken Manual", his models are mostly the models of nature and some people who look like they have become part of nature. In the first picture, I captured a path that continued on down. I tried to make the illusion like Alex Soth did. In the second picture, I tried to get a tree branch and a pond. In the picture he did, the branch was long and confusing, which made it look pretty cool. In the third picture, I got someone to walk on a bridge. There is a wide shot he took of someone on a path in his project. In the fourth picture, I tried to capture not just the picture but the aspect of what the original photograph was trying to get across. He does a lot of couple pictures in most of his projects, they are all smiling but I can't assume that they are happy. In my picture, you can't see our faces but our hands. In fact, we were not happy when we took the picture. But no one looking at this picture wouldn't know that. In the last picture, I tried to get a shot of a very complicated piece of nature like he did. It was a little foggy which is good because it was foggy in the one that he did as well. Even though this semester is almost over, I enjoyed looking up and learning about Photographers and their work.
