Alex Clark, 1/20/13, Image for Critique
Taking two hundred and fifty photographs in one week was definitely a ginormous challenge but still a great task nonetheless. Every day, I looked inside and outside of my house for the perfect shot and luckily discovered more than one photographic opportunity. Unfortunately, most of the photographs did not turn out as well as I had planned, thus resulting in frustration. Luckily, I happen to be outside in the cold and wet one day and looked towards the swing set in my back yard. Immediately, I thought back to the days of middle school when I first took photography and decided that I would put those skills that I learned during that time to good use. I quickly went over to the swing set, bent down, angled my camera a certain way, and pressed down on the capture button to take this resulting picture. This photograph is definitely not a cliche photo because the picture is more than likely the type of swing set photo that people would not see by searching for swing sets on Google. People may see this item instead in a museum demonstrating the art and works of a famous photographer and artist. Therefore, this picture is more artistic, demonstrates more photographic technique, and possesses the same if not more thought than a cliche picture found through a Google search.
