Nicholas Samaras specializes in underwater photography. He uses both models and the natural elements of the ocean to create beautiful photographs. The first photo I chose because of the amazing contrast of the yellow fabric and pitch black background. It's almost as if the model herself is a light source, glowing in the dark abyss. The bottom photo shows all the crisp details on the coral and the seahorse's body. The light in the background emphasizes the creature's shape, causing it to stand out. The difference between the two is substantial in the way light is used in each.
