Jill Treat, 1/13/2012, photo for critique

What it means to mean a photo?  I know that it is different for each person but for me to mean a photo is to capture a thought or emotion each time you look at it.  When I take a family photo I am trying to capture that person or moment in time.  When I look back years later I want to feel that exact moment.  When I am taking a landscape photo I am trying to capture the beauty or story of that object or place.  This week as I was walking by the lake I saw this post I didnt give it much thought until I saw how the fog from the lake gave it such a mystic feel.  This photo represents that day and the feeling that I had as I walked by the lake.  It felt a little eerie and lonely. As I was deciding which photo to share this one stood out, mainly because I looked at it and felt as if I was standing at that exact place at that exact moment.

  1. I love this image. It's very simplistic in it's ability to evoke a feeling of contemplation of perhaps a worry or decision but also a sense of calm, and intended isolation. The textures and colors are also very distinct. Thanks for sharing this image, I really enjoyed it!
