Over the 18 years I have lived in Powhatan County, I would pass this place everyday on my way home. I see this as my least cliche photograph I took out of this assignment, I say that because it's not something like a simple cliche it's something real and has a true historic story behind it. It looks like just some abandoned house but that is where you are wrong this was a store in the early 1900's it was opened by Terry DeNoon, whom is related to my step dad. The store later closed in the 1940's and was never messed with again. I think this is amazing to share because its not really everyday you see something that was built in the 1900's and is still standing to this day but I'm not saying it hasn't had it's beatings it made it through every storm we have had since the 1940's when it closed down. It truly blows my mind it still stands today but I hope that it will stand for many years to come so one day I can tell my kids the story and it can be passed on.
