Amy McVaugh, 1.13.13, Image for Critique

This is my adorable little grandson who is one of my favorite people to photograph. This image was taken after one of our "photo shoots" and captures his personality and mood.

To me, what it means to mean a photograph is to have a thought, emotion, story or some type of intent that holds a meaning behind the image. This one was partly spontaneous and followed a series of "silly pictures" where he had worn my girlie-glasses and was reading the back of my Art syllabus. Originally I had intended to capture something very 16 month old "ish" that would convey a carefree, inquisitive, silly nature filled with composition, textures, etc. but found this one much more meaningful. I find it pleasantly ironic that this photo was taken as the last one in a series of shots I meant to "mean" something. It reminds me of the unexpected joy this unexpected little boy has brought me.The happiness and love in his eyes holds meaning for me in this photo
