I chose Richard Misrach because most of his photos demonstrate how beautiful and diverse things can be in nature.  Out of all of his pictures, I picked these two because I believe that they definitely show the beauty in the environment.  They show this trait by looking as though they could be turned into a portrait.  The two pictures also show diversity because various and unpredictable events can frequently occur in the natural world, as shown by the desert fire in the first picture and the shooting stars in the second photograph.
