Shannon Richardson, 1/25/2013, Artist Post

The artist that I chose this week is Danny Turcotte.  He is a Canadian artist that has some of the most unique work I have ever seen.  Before I found his images on a photo blog, I had never heard of light painting.  Light painting involves leaving the shutter on the camera open longer and shining an alternate light source into the camera.  The above picture looks makes me think of magic and all things enchanting.  Although I love seeing vivid, contrasting colors, I also seem to be drawn to black and white photos and loved the black and white images of the landscape and other scenes that the artist was able to capture.  In addition to artistic work he also does wedding, engagement, and family photos as well as other artistic forms of photography.  I would never have thought that the same person that captured these images would also be doing wedding photography.
