Cam Longest 2/3/13, Artist Post

Patrick Traylor - Artist

While browsing the web for a while and not seeing to many people I liked, I discovered patrick traylor. The two photos above are from separate projects taylor has done in the past, the first from a project called "In search of home" The image captures the raw power and strength tornadoes and mother nature can have on peoples homes. This to me represents someone who has clearly lost more than just their house. It shows the devastation a pop up storm can have on a single home and more than likely a community. It leaves the mystery up to the viewer, was anyone killed, injured, missing. The second image is very simple, very clean and is for some reason really easy to look at. It symbolizes too many things to even begin to write about here, but the biggest one for me is obviously patriotism and nationalism. The flag itself could represent many things, it could represent the blood spilled by those who fight and have fought to protect our great nation and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their life to protect us.
