Jill Treat, Artist Post, 3-31-13

I chose the top photo as my enviromental photo.  It is a strong photo to me because it tells a story.  Maybe it is a possible form of shelter or a place that people congregate to talk about the day's events or to get away from their worries.  It also looks like a place where people can go to get away from the heat or to just hide from something.  It could even be a place where someone lays their head to rest.  It shows the ground that is unkept and dead but also shows the green tree that is big and alive.

I chose the above photo as my object because it is so unclear and I stopped and stared at it for awhile before I was able to grasp some of the possible reasons this picture was taken.  To me it is a strong photo because it seems to tell a story about a woman that has been hiding behind something. It could symbolize the way she feels about herself or about someone else.  It brings up alot of questions, who is the person in the photo, what is the meaning of the berries in the bowl?  The questions I have about this photo makes it a strong image.
