I chose this portrait because I am really fond of these nice and simple shots. I think what makes a good portrait like this is to have not much going on in the background, and for the depth of field to be just right. Along with the color tone and depending on why your making the portrait or who your making the portrait of can determine certain aspects of the picutre i.e, smiling, looking serious/clothing etc. This photo inspired me for my portrait for the week because these are my favorite types of pictures to shoot. The photo also fits the title very well.
I chose this picture for my landscape picture because when i think of landscapes I imagine in my mind a nicely lit background, and a nice clean and elegant setting for the landscape itself, I feel like these are the proper ways to make a good landscape. I particularly like landscape pictures of old buildings like this. Also, the entire set reminded me of where all of my family is from, West Virginia.
