Susan Worsham's images are in our artist post this week. She seems to use light to highlight certain aspects of her images. The images in this project were of things from the past that were no longer being used - an old drive-in, closed up establishments. There were images of people that seemed sad to me - they were just hanging around in worn down, old places. I selected this image of overgrown greenery - the light is brightest from the top left to the middle, then it's kind of shadowy. There could be a fence under there or something else that's been taken over by the greenery and smothered. The young man in the bottom picture is standing in front of Dollar General, which can be found in every little town, even the ones without Walmarts and Targets. The store looks closed, but that must not be true because he has a bag of something. He is just hanging around too, like the overgrown greenery.
