Jeanette Wright, 03/24/13, Images for Critique

Whenever I take a picture for class now, I imagine Shane behind me saying, "Why did you include that part at the bottom" or " that isn't interesting" etc. With that in mind, I do think I am taking better pictures. That has not stopped me, however, from taking pictures that I know he would not appreciate, but that appeal to me. The first two pictures are from Sunday Park in Brandermill. "Redundancy" appeals to me, and things that are classically beautiful. These boats waiting for spring are classically beautiful, and the posts, ropes and shadows in the second shot were nicely lined up. I think they are both good landscapes. The sun was really bright, so I had to play with my settings a lot. I was leaned over on a bench setting my camera up on the seat so I wouldn't have camera shake when a teenage boy stopped and asked if I was okay. Because I was hunched over, he thought I was "passed out".

These two young ladies were trying to get pictures of each other with their cell phones. They agreed to let me take a shot of them. The picture below that is of my youngest son in his natural environment-asleep in a rocker in front of the TV. The TV light kept flickering and changing and after messing with my settings several times to accomodate that, I decided to just shoot a few photos and go with the best one. The light on his face is from the TV and the overhead fixture. I had to set my ISO at 800, my shutter speed at 1.5 and aperture at F4.5 so I wouldn't have to use the flash.
